“gods with amnesia”

Spirit is consciousness, an awareness that requires authenticity which includes both positive and negative. With all the diversity in the world, collaborating to find the balance between our strengths and weaknesses is crucial to our collective evolution, but we must first find balance within. That individual equilibrium between rationality and feeling, male and female energies, order and chaos, is where we find excellence. Logic is meaningless without emotion. And understanding comes out of knowledge. Just as the construct of father time is to make sense of mother nature. Audre Lorde, in your silence will not protect you said, “Rationality is not unnecessary. It serves the chaos of knowledge. It serves feeling.”

The best things in life are felt. And the worst too, which is probably why we are afraid to feel. A lack of vulnerability in our interactions generates less pain, but also less love and authentic connections. Facing negative and sometimes positive emotions is not easy, but necessary. Although we have the right to deny our feelings, we only hurt ourselves and others in the long run. As Sigmund Freud said, unexpressed emotions are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways.

The view of one object or situation through different lenses is each person’s truth. Sometimes both parties are wrong, or right. Other times there is an undeniable truth regardless of perspective, bias, or justification. Effective communication means taking accountability for what is said to others and what they hear. Being calm, clear, and honest is a good place to start. The better we communicate and selflessly listen, the more progress we make in changing our mindset and the world from an egoic hellhole to a soulful heaven. Knowledge is information and in this chaos we find immense growth and create better flexible structures.

We are simply different dances of the one dancer. Thus, to harm others would be to harm oneself. And while we may label humans as good or evil, it is really just different stages of amnesia. Our real indestructible nature is good, which is all the reason to give grace. Every one of us comes from source and will one day return. The realization of our essence destroys the idea of separation and emphasizes the need to be responsible for each other despite artificial divisions. Souls have no race, tribe, sex, religion, or class. Humans are basically gods with amnesia . . .
