“All in the head”

Visuals in the head play a role in the way we move in the world. The idea we have of ourselves, the storylines we come up with, the dreams we hope to become reality. Sometimes we believe things we have no business believing, whether by choice or conditioning. Other times, the conviction is so strong we can’t shake it off. No matter how hard and long we try. At what point does a recurring thought or storyline cross over from a delusion to a vision. Plus isn’t everyone delusional in some area. Perhaps it’s only a delusion when we don’t achieve what we set out to. Or when something we believed would happen doesn’t.

One’s mind(set) is either a liability or an asset. Thus, it should be trained to keep moving, to not wallow in unfavourable life situations. Afterall life owes us nothing. Belief alone is not enough, and neither is hard work. But it’s good to practice both for ourselves. This way we know we did everything we could to achieve our goals. And we know this particular venture was simply not for us. What is meant to be will be, even when we run from it. And what is not meant to be, will elude us no matter how hard we chase it. There’s not much to be done about things that are fated or destiny. As always, the key is acceptance.

Fear is deep-rooted. A feeling that’s more present than we like to admit. If we have the courage to dig deep and honestly face our emotions, we may find it laying underneath. Silently feeding into our thoughts and actions. Even the things that are considered insignificant can be linked to the fear of being seen, misunderstood, judged, hurt, etc. But when does one decide to just let go and let life flow. To free the mind from a job it can’t do. Nobody can out plan life. Bodies, minds, and hearts will probably get hurt. Precisely why we must go inward, and rest in the truth that our souls are simply untouchable.
