“Lost identities“
The duality of human nature finds it hard to comprehend the oneness of soul nature. The human, the lower self, is like a character in a movie called creation. The soul, the higher self, chooses various characters to play in various lifetimes. Characters have a written storyline with some wiggle room to make choices. Evidently, most of the things that happen to us as humans are not our choice. Nothing, even the worst of actions or events is good or bad. It is just what it is. Maybe this is why when we heal from traumatic events, we say we wouldn’t be who we are if not for everything we have been through. The bad in duality, always seems to be for a greater good.
It is very easy to get lost in the pain of trauma, addiction, unfulfilled dreams, and more. Getting lost or stuck in a moment, means life passes us by. If life is a movie, we have to be present to experience every scene from moment to moment. This means we can’t hold on to events. We have to let go. Everything must pass through us, good or bad. But it’s easier said than done, because some life events knock us to the ground, crush us to pieces, and leave us there. There’s only so much we can take afterall. But if we don’t process an event that made an impression on us, it blurs our lens of the picture. When we are broken, we see through a broken lens. We don’t make good choices, because we are zombies, walking dead.
Substantial healing requires isolation. A time to sit and look within, with limited or no distractions. This means leaving the rat race or tuning out the world. Extensive reflection and processing can’t occur while we are running, it requires a pause. The more time we put into healing, the better the results. Sometimes we may be unable to completely stop, but maybe we can walk. When we run, we rush, and this leads to us missing vital information or objects, and subsequently to higher chances of stumbling. Although we will always stumble, not all are necessary or purposeful. Taking out time for the one in the world -our human selves- when we don’t have to play any role, is important. And even more so, consistently tapping into the oil of our soul identities.
