“Soul food”
Eating healthy is a form of selfcare. The foods and drinks we consume have an impact on our mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. This is why being intentional about what we put in our mouths is important. A strong connection with our bodies enables better listening when it communicates. Practices that work for one person may not necessarily work for others, because each body composition is unique. It is not a one rule fits all situation, but generally a lifestyle with no exercise and overly processed food is bound to be detrimental. There are foods that feed disease, and those that are medicine.
The body is like a machine. And anything that is over worked is bound to break down at some point. Maintenance of our machines may involve only eating when we are hungry, and not bored or stressed. Eating fresh and well-balanced meals in sufficient portions and at decent hours of the day. Engaging in a water, fruit, or vegetable juice cleanse, which also gives the body a well-deserved break. Our bodies do a lot for us. When ample energy is spent on just digestion on a daily basis due to unhealthy eating habits, there is little left to focus on other parts. In a way, we are actually what we eat.
Seeing as the body can be described as the physical aspect or temple of the soul. Maintaining, cleansing, and honouring it would naturally provide a strong launching pad to a higher vibration. And in addition, sustain the elevation. Whilst there are many individual benefits of conscious eating, it serves the collective too. When we develop a food lifestyle that promotes peace and harmony, other sentient beings and the ecosystem are better off.
